APM Terminals Callao, concessionaire of the Multipurpose North Terminal of the port of Callao, recently acquired 1 STS Panamax crane and 2 eRTG cranes, which meant an investment of approximately US$25 million with the aim of continuing to improve its container loading and unloading processes in favor of your customers.

Actualmente, la carga contenedorizada representa aproximadamente el 50% de la carga total operada por el terminal.  Ello contribuye a la movilización de carga de importación y exportación.

With this, the terminal already has 5 STS Super Post Panamax cranes, 2 STS Panamax cranes and 15 eRTGs cranes. According to what was pointed out by Javier Vidal, Director of Operations, in the future stages of the master plan of the concession it is estimated to continue expanding the number of equipment and infrastructure to adequately meet the future demand of Peruvian foreign trade.

During stage 3A, which is about to be executed, it is expected to acquire 2 free-flow grain loaders and build a grain handling system with 12 silos with a capacity of 60,000 tons. Likewise, for stage 3B it is planned to acquire 3 STS cranes, 9 eRTG cranes and 24 additional TTs, as well as general cargo equipment. Additionally, in stage 4A it is planned to incorporate 4 STS cranes, 12 eRTG cranes and 24 TTs.

It should be noted that all the STS and eRTGs cranes are electric and are used to service containers on ships and between the different work yards, respectively.
