DP World Callao, the main operator of the South Terminal of the port of Callao, has obtained authorization to receive ships up to 400 meters long and up to 21,000 TEUs in capacity. This achievement positions DP World Callao as the only port terminal in the country with this capacity, reinforcing its key role in accessing international markets.

The port of Callao is the main corridor for the country's imports and exports, managing more than 90% of the total volumes. In July 2022, this port terminal reached a historical record for monthly movement, reaching 137,154 TEUs.

DP World Callao is committed to supporting the Peruvian economy and providing opportunities for Peruvian producers to sell their products anywhere in the world. "We are sure that this authorization will have a positive impact on the country's economy," says Nicolas Gauthier, CEO at DP World Peru.

In September 2021, DP World began construction of the Bicentennial Dock Project, an expansion of the South Terminal that will increase its capacity by 80%. With an investment of around US$350 million, the project will be completed in the second quarter of 2024.

DP World Callao is also committed to sustainability. All the new equipment will be electric, seeking to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. In addition, the company became the first port in Peru to obtain the third star of Peru's Carbon Footprint awarded by the Ministry of the Environment.

On the other hand, DP World Peru and DP World Callao received, for the fourth consecutive year, the Great Place to Work certification, a recognition of their collaborators as a great place to work. This recognition encourages the organization to maintain its commitment to ensuring a good work experience, leading various programs and activities to promote a culture of continuous development for its teams, ensuring diverse and inclusive spaces for all.

In conclusion, DP World Callao is leading port innovation in Peru with its capacity to receive ships up to 400 meters long. With its commitment to sustainability and the continuous development of its teams, DP World Callao is prepared to face the challenges of the future and continue to be a key player in the Peruvian economy.
