Cooperation contributes to national development, says Mincetur.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported today that Peru and Korea signed the agreement to strengthen the special economic zones (ZEE).

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Peru, Yungjoon Jo, and at the meeting the importance of the Asian country for Peru was expressed, as it is a strategic partner and sixth partner most important business, said the Mincetur. 

In this sense, the minister highlighted the need to continue efforts to strengthen the commercial and economic relationship, which was demonstrated with the signing of a technical cooperation agreement to promote the attraction of foreign investment in the SEZs in the country. 

On the other hand, he expressed Peru's satisfaction for the upcoming start of the negotiation process of the Free Trade Agreement between the Pacific Alliance and South Korea, with a view to becoming an associated State of the Pacific Alliance. 

The aforementioned meeting was attended by the executive president of the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú), Amora Carbajal, as well as the director of Asia, Oceania and Africa of Mincetur, Gerardo Meza.

Peru and South Korea signed, on Monday, November 21, a technical cooperation agreement to promote the attraction of foreign investment in the country's ZEEs, indicated the Mincetur. "The agreement was signed at the Mincetur facilities," noted the minister.  

The official added that cooperation is a key component of foreign policy, as it contributes to national development.
