China's ports moved a total of 168.7 million TEUs from January to July, an increase of 4.2% compared to the same period in 2021.

In the first seven months of 2022, the cargo volume of Chinese ports was 8,920.8 million tons, a small year-on-year decrease of 0.1%. Shanghai remained the best performing port, handling 26.8 million TEUs from January to July.

The average value of the Ningbo Container Freight Index (NCFI) in August decreased by 7.4% compared to last month, due to relatively poor market performance on the Ningbo Zhoushan Port-West Coastal of North America route.
